If the students have more skills, expect more. However, typically there will be a variety of skill levels. If possible, ask the students what they think they need most (health care terms, reading a bus schedule, filling out forms, etc.) & build short vocabulary & dialogs around this info. With only 6 hrs., don't bother with a student text unless it's a bilingual picture dictionary (a reference tool for now & later). A specific text will probably only frustrate you & the students. You probably should also confer with the employer -- what does he expect you to accomplish? Are his expectations realistic? Finally, what do you charge? Start with what you make per hour in your other teaching job? Or what does the local community college pay per hour? And don't forget, you'll probably be responsible for paying the taxes, etc since you'll be "an independent contractor" not an employee. Good Luck!
