I don't know about statistical data, but you may be interested in a 
publication by The National Immigration Forum titled: Together in Our 
Differences: How Newcomers and Established Residents are Rebuilding 
America's Communities.  It looks at various community projects and at what 
works/what doesn't.  This and other publications can be found at 
www.immigrationforum.org
