The ESL Special Collection is a peer-reviewed collection of high-quality materials for ESL practitioners and learners.  Funded by the National Institute For Literacy, the ESL Special Collection is in its fourth year of operation and has over 200 materials in easy-to-use categories.

In an effort to maintain continuous improvement of the collection, we are planning to conduct a peer evaluation over the next month. We would like to enlist the help of about 10 ESL practitioners in this evaluation process.

If you are interested, please send the following information to me as soon as possible (please send it off-list to matthew@caliteracy.org):

Your name, address, e-mail

Name of your organization

A brief description of the setting in which you work, e.g., non-profit, refugee center

Your role, e.g., administrator, paid teacher, volunteer tutor

The audience of ESL learners you or your program work with

A brief statement of the nature of your involvement in ESL now and in the past

Any additional comments you would like to make

We will pay $50 for about 2-3 hours work. This involves, first, completing an online questionnaire based on your evaluation of the ESL Special Collection. And, second, participating in a conference telephone call.

The deadline to apply is March 19, 2004.

The online review must be completed by March 31, 2004.

The conference call will take place the week of April 5, 2004.
