This is a brilliant idea.  The possibilities are endless.  I teach public speaking at the college level and endeavored to have a forensics team that could participate in events but the cost was prohibitive.  In order to create public speaking opportunities we have participated in a library-promoted Christmas program for 250 headstart children.  We have just entered into a working relationship with the homeless coalition and 211.  It's exciting.  Let me know what your opportunities become and how you fill them.

Our board has decided to create a speakers bureau in order to let the general public know what we do, how we do it, what our future plans are, etc. We see this as one part of an overall marketing program to raise our profile in the community. This doesn't seem an especially difficult task, but before we go off re-inventing the wheel does anyone has any "tips'--do's or dont's- they might offer based on their own experience with this sort of endeavor? Many thanks in advance for the help.
