It looks at the stats on labor participation by immigrants and finds that 54% hold low income jobs and English literacy and fluency seem have a positive influence on economic self-sufficiency. The digest then explores how immigrant workers' English language skills can be improved in the context of workplace instruction. Providing In-Services wherein faculty can share what they've gleaned from assigned readings is a great way for teachers to learn by connecting theory w/practice.
