Sylvan and Tanya,

This is a widespread problem across the country by the
looks of things. At one NJALL (New Jersey Association
for Lifelong Learning) conference, we prganised a
panel to address just this issue. How fulltime (with
few or no benefits/perp time, etc.) teachers could
make ends meet and what benefits they could apply for.
There were also discussions on how administrators
could look for benefits for teachers who worked
fulltime at their centres, without a job in the local
pulic schools or anything else. Unfortunately I don't
remember the details very clearly, but I am sure
someone from the NJALL might be able to help you.
