Olivia,

In the state of NY, it is possible to get certification through "alternative
pathways." We have BOCES centers with teacher certification officers (hope
that was the right title) who can evaluate your transcripts and tell you
what you are missing (how you "fall short.") I imagine there may be a
parallel system in your state. Try approaching a friendly school principal
or your state certification office to seek out where you would find a
"certification officer." They provide this advice for free at my local
BOCES, but if you approach NY state directly, there is a $50.00 charge to
file and get an answer - or at least that's how things were a few years ago.

Best wishes!

If you teach k-12 you wil get benefits in our state of Florida. If you
choose to work with adults you will not get them. What is your choice??!!
