That levels the playing field and all must attain, by the same means, the same goal. Perhaps I would go further, how about national certification, done thru the states? If one wants to teach in Europe, the diplomas or certification requirements for ESL are so much different from ours. Our different certifications within each state does not carry weight with them and sometimes it is not possible to apply for jobs because of the type of certification they require.
