I will soon be presenting a workshop on health literacy concerns of adult immigrants and their families to an audience of public health workers, medical school faculty, and adult educators. I would like to share with them stories from ESL classes about learners' health and health care experiences and concerns. I'm not currently in the classroom --- I would love to hear from teachers who are. Does anyone have any stories from learners about health issues that they would like to share? Or health-related learning activities that were particularly well-received by learners? Also, I would love to hear feedback from folks who have used some web-based materials I've made: Picture Stories for Adult ESL Health Literacy and the Fairfax County, VA, EL/Civics Curriculum health materials. If you have used them and would like to share your comments, would you please write to me off-list at katesingleton@cox.net? Thanks very much. Kate Singleton Falls Church, VA
