The projects range in grade from Pre-Kindergarten through High School, and are for newcomers to the United States of all languages. To qualify, newcomers should be in US schools less than four or five years, depending upon the project. Some projects are group administered; some are individually administered. Most can be administered by a teacher, teacher aide or other classroom professional. One project involves exciting voice recognition technology, and needs a sample of ESL students whose primary language is other than Spanish. Another project requires speech language pathologists to test Spanish speakers ages 5 and 6 who are normally developing or Spanish-speaking students with language disorders ages 5-21. If you are interested in details--including compensation--for these projects, please contact Julia Kearney at julia_kearney@harcourt.com or 800-233-5686.
