This year The Academy of American Poets at www.poetry.org is offering a Poem a Day in honor of April, National Poetry Month. You can sign up to receive a poem every day by e-mail. I recently shared once again my presentation "Successfully Integrating Poetry into the ESOL/Civics Classroom." If you are interested in a copy of it, let me know. It comes in 3 parts: Ideas and Resources, Free Writing and Student Responses, and Talking about a Poem. It incorporates some of the great ideas and suggestions that have also circulated on this list serve in the past and a few new resources and poems.
