Melinda-
The Adult Division of LA Unified has courses and course outlines in VESL
Health Careers (ESL high beginners and up) and classes in Nursing
Assistant and LVN. Check http://www.adultinstruction.org and look for
course offerings. These may be of help to you.

We are going to develop an ESL bridge curriculum to Allied Health
Courses for careers such as Medical Assistant, Nurses' Assistant,
Nursing, Phlebotomy Technician or Dental Assistants. I would appreciate
any information on current ESL curricula or on programs offered in the
NYC area I could visit. Another question I have for ESL practitioners
is what were the goals of your courses and how did they differentiate
from similar courses geared towards native speakers?

Thanks very much,
Melinda Thomsen
