Reading is Fundamental (RIF) is requesting prliminary applications to start
new RIF projects with federal money. The new project must serve a group in
which 60% or more of the children are identified as having special needs. The
project must also be lacking adequate local resources to operate RIF without
federal assistance.

January 15, 1996, is the deadline for prliminary applications; February 15
for proposals. For information or application forms, call Dawn Karolick at
202-287-3220 ext. 243.
