I, too, have been a long-time lurker but since the interact period has been
extended, I want to introduce myself. My name is Connie Sapin and I am a
former Even Start Coordinator and teacher living in Cleveland, Ohio.
Currently, I am developing teacher training workshops through the Ohio
Literacy Resource Center. I have been researching materials on "sensitive
issues" such as HIV and STD's, teenage pregnancy, domestic violence and
substance abuse and on economic literacy o.e. the student's roles as worker,
consumer, taxpayer and voter. If any of you have any resources, please
contact me. I would also be delighted to share what I have found.
