Hi! I think I've introduced myself once. I teach ESL Literacy five mornings a
week at Sequoia Adult School in Redwood City, CA. Because I want to explore
family literacy, I've taken a job teaching ESL two nights a week to parents
at an elementary school. They're there to learn English, but I'm hoping to do
some lessons focusing on helping their children succeed in school.
It's a combination low beg/ high beg class, and I'm finding it a challenge to
remember how to work with people who read and write Spanish with facility
(compared to my morning folks).
I don't have a textbook, and would appreciate any tips on where to find
lesson plans and materials specifically for parents.
Thanks in advance! I'd love a little collegial chatting.
