Position: Executive Director, LIFT-Missouri
Background: Missouri's the state's literacy resource center, located in St.
Louis, is seeking individual to assume leadership role for the organization.
This not-for-profit agency develops and oversees literacy programs, provides
training for tutors and administrators, develops curriculum materials for use
in adult, workplace and family literacy projects, provides technical
assistance to programs, seeks federal grants, as well as corporate and
foundation support to maintain funding levels. This small agency serves as
conduit for cooperation of state agencies and other organizations interested
in literacy development across Missouri.
Job description: Applicants must possess excellent organizational and
leadership skills, knowledge of operating not-for-porfit agency, abiliity to
work with federal and state government structure and with an established
board. Fundraising and strategic planning experience preferred. Successful
applicant will be expected to oversee the development, promotion,
administration, coordination and fundraising for this growing organization.
Salary: $40,000-45,000
