As a practitioner in the field for almost 20 years, as a teacher, administrator, and now as a researcher I am struck at the lack of information about the folks who participate in literacy programs. The vast differences between and among different racial, gender, age, and ethnic groups is sorely missing. How can we do our jobs without such vital information. We know that the same template of program design does not fit in all cases and sensitivity to this needs to be taken into consideration. I have done a lot work with Latinos and programs for them, or supposedly for them, and strongly believe that people need to think about differences if we are ever to create inclusive programming, something we have yet to achieve. I will look forward to further information from you regarding the publishing priorities and appreciate the opportunity to share my views. Perhaps you would even be interested in publishing some of my work. thanks.
