Have any of you had trouble with junk e-mail? So far I haven't, but from
articles in the newspapers and stories on television it is a problem. I ran
upon the following post today concerning a free (today) program which is
supposed to help with this problem. As you will see, the message involves
two postings and describes both the problem and the new program to be
downloaded. Good luck!

I have had several private e-mails asking me "what is "spam"?". "Spam" is
unsolicited e-mail usually sent to a large number of people that is to
harrass, advertise, shock and perpetrate hoaxes on the internet. There is a
really good explanation of the different types of "spam" on the RSVP Mail
site. Just go to their home page at: http://www.rsvpmail.com/ and click
on any link that says "faq".

AOL has been fighting "Spam" in the courts for a while now, and it is a
general nuisance on the internet. I am on many mailing lists for my job, so
I receive a lot of "spam". I received one "shock" spam recently that was
about child pornography. I read the first few sentences before I realized
what it was. What I did read was really disgusting and offensive. It really
makes me shudder that children could open and read even a couple of lines of
such e-mail as I did! I understand now that the FBI is trying to find the
person that sent the e-mail message out on the net. Anyway, I don't like
receiving this sort of message and this new e-mail program stops it.

I understand that RSVP Mail will be available for free for another day
(Tuesday) as they had so many people downloading it. Good luck!

great tips, ideas and URLs. So many times I have started a message to
delurk, but everyone else has always said it first, and usually much more
capably! :-)

> Well now is my chance to put in my 2 cents. I wanted to make certain
that everyone here knew about the new RSVP Mail software which you can
download for free this Monday. They are giving away the first 10,000
copies from midnight to 6 AM Monday.

> I have been one of the beta testers and it is really great for stopping
spam and controlling the mail my kids receive. I think you'll really like
it, too.
