My understanding is that Houghton Mifflin received the
letters they wanted, and that they are now donating books to
children's hospitals, plus 500 extra beyond the number they
promised. Everyone did a good job of getting them e-mail
messages!

I thought that this would be a good project for everyone:

Electronic charity, good use of bandwidth.

Houghton-Mifflin is giving books to children's hospitals.
How many books they give depends on how many emails they
receive from people around the world. For every 25 emails
they receive, they give one book--it seems like a great way
for family literacy people to help a good cause.

All you have to do is mail to : share@hmco.com.

I hope you can spare the seconds and let your friends know.
Last year they reached 23,000 and are way below that goal
this year
