Dear Kerry,

While I agree with the person who replied that you cannot measure success
in only one dimension, I think it is true that reading is VERY important
to all academic pursuits and also to lifelong learning.

If you will send me your address, I will send you a packet of information
from the ERIC Clearinghouse on Reading, English, and Communication and the
Family Literacy Center.

In addition, you may want to take advantage of the AskERIC service. Send
an e-mail message to    askeric@ericir.syr.edu   with your question(s).
AskERIC will then route your question to the clearinghouse best equipped
to deal with it.

I suggest you also take a look, as suggested, at multiple intelligences,
and different ways of learning. You can get information about that, too,
from AskERIC.
