I work with Prospects Literacy Association in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Prospects is a non-profit organization which started in 1980 as a
volunteer tutor program and then began to include small group work. We
have been doing a substantial amount of family literacy work over the past
five years. Our website adress is www.nald.ca/pla.htm. The website
should give you some sense of the range and types of programs. I can
provide more specific information about various programs on request.

We are also in the process of developing a centre for family literacy that
will continue to develop programs locally while providing some services
(e.g. access to resources, information, training etc) on a provincial
basis. However, this is still in the early stages of development. So
check out our website first, and then let me know if you need more info.
