Tips for new family literacy programs: Visit sites of those already involved and soak up every bit of information you can. Find your friends in literacy! Advice: Organize your data. Whatever your preformance is based upon prepare documentation as you go and keep it organized. (It is real easy to get into doing what you are supposed to be doing and just get overwhelmed in paperwork to follow.) What I wish I had known: Funding is a forever and ever issue. What helped the most: Small group meetings with programs within my region/area. These were held at both state meetings and at the local level.
