Baltimore Reads is a leading literacy coordinating agency in
Baltimore City. Direct services are provided to adults for literacy
enhancement and high school credentialing, as well as contextual
literacy programming aimed towards adults obtaining jobs in the private
sector.

In addition, Baltimore Reads through a creative partnership with the

University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, and Community Law Center's
Public Law Initiative, utilizes AmeriCorps members to provide after
school tutoring and family advocacy services to two inner city
elementary and one middle schools.

Recently, we had an opportunity to partner with Clorox Corporation
and community based programs in a suburban county of Maryland to provide

"love of reading" services to kids using volunteers from the Clorox
Company. In addition, the Clorox Company provided high visibility
sponsorship during the Baltimore Reads Books to the Ballpark campaign.

We extend an invitation to interested parties to request a copy of
the case study "Public/Private Partnerships: Blending Corporate
Sponsorship and Community Reading Initiatives". We believe that the
study will provide family literacy organizations a model for developing
mutually benefiting partnerships between the public and private
sectors.

A copy of the case study may be requested by contacting:
