The change in name from Clearinghouse to Center better reflects our work and the range of services we provide. These include technical assistance to programs; professional development of program staff; the writing and production of books, reports, and paper; and the development of on-line resources on a number of key topics. We will continue to engage in information analysis and synthesis, question answering, and collection of docoments related to adult ESL for the Educational Resource Information Center(ERIC) database. Over the past 11 years, NCLE has become the national center for ESL literacy education, but we will always be NCLE -- knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to help.
