Rosalind - Here are a few definitions for you:

Parent and Child Together (PACT) Time provides regularly scheduled
opportunities for parents and their children to work and learn together, and
transfer that learning experience to the home.

Parent Time offers parents the opportunity to come together to learn about
their children’s emerging literacy and development skills, and to discover
new resources available to their families.

Adult Education supports a parent’s varied life responsibilities through an
active, engaging curriculum guided by their vocational goals, culture and
family traditions.

Children’s Education promotes the literacy development and learning of
children in an environment that engages parents as their child’s first
advocate and teacher.

These four elements are included in the federal definition of family
literacy services found in the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act
(Title II of the Workforce Investment Act), the Reading Excellence Act, the
Community Services Block Grant Act, the Head Start Act and Even Start (Title
I, Part B, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act).

Federal Definition of Family Literacy
“The term ‘family literacy services’ means services that are of sufficient
duration to make sustainable changes in a family and that integrate all of
the following activities:
·	Interactive literacy activities between parents and their children [PACT
Time]
·	Training for parents regarding how to be the primary teacher for their
children and full partners in their education [Parent Time]
·	Parent literacy training that leads to economic self-sufficiency [Adult
Education]
·	An age-appropriate education to prepare children for success in school and
life experiences [Children’s Education]”

Hope this helps
