Greetings again. It seems when I am "on the road" and not able to check my
e-mail, that is when the list goes a bit out of hand. I apologize. I
really only went for 36 hours without checking the e-mails, and it seems
some folks began to forget the purpose of this list and how to respond to
messages.

And, I appreciate it when others on this list begin to notice when things
get out of hand and say something. It has been wonderful moderating this
family literacy discussion for the past three years, because this group is
the most polite bunch of people on any list. I read all the NIFL sponsored
lists and other lists every day to stay on top of what is happening, and I
am proud of how y'all "behave" on this list. I can honestly say, you all
make my job as list moderator easy.

So, in this season when we are all appreciating the gifts we have received
over the past year, especially in regards to the challenges our country is
facing now, I want to thank you all for being a special gift to me. You
share willingly and freely with others that are just beginning their work in
family literacy. You encourage those who have been "hard at it" for years,
and you celebrate with us all as family literacy becomes recognized as one
of the best methods for improving the literacy for families. We are making
a difference!

Thank you all.
Nancy Sledd, NIFL-Family List moderator
