..It might just be the case that individuals don't know how to reply just
to the sender. In Outlook Express, hitting "Reply" will send the mail to
the list. One must hit "New", then manually enter the sender's address in
order to post to the individual only....

My 2 cents worth,

I too am frustrated by those individuals who ignore the reminder to send
requests to the individual. It is certainly a waste of my time to receive
these messages, realize they do not further the discussion of family
literacy curriculum and then deleting them.

I'm also mindful that not everyone knows how to send a message to an
individual. There was a time not so long ago that I didn't understand fully
how this all worked.

I use Outlook and have found by trial and error I can hit "Reply" and then
manually change the address. I use the "cut and paste" method so I can be
absolutely certain that I get the address correct. I also take this
opportunity to edit the message to quote only the portion I need.

Alternately one could copy the intended address into a new message.

When you hit "Reply", take a second to look at the address in the "To" line
and decide if this is really who you intended to receive the message.

In this instance I see "nifl-family@nifl.gov". Yes, I do intend to send
this to the entire list.

We are all frazzled with recent events, the Holidays, and our usual
stressful lives. Let's all take a second and think about what we are doing
and try to be tolerant of those that might not know everything. We're here
to teach and learn from each other, why not about the technical aspects of
our list as well.

Let's be good to one another.

Thanks for reading!
