Thanks for your support. I mean it when I say this list has the best group of subscribers of any other list I am on. When folks join this list, a message is sent to each new subscriber with details on how to send messages to the list, how to reply to one person or to the whole list, how to unsubscribe, the purpose of the list, etc. Every other month, a message is sent to every NIFL-list subscriber with reminders of how to subscribe and unsubscribe. The 12+ NIFL-list moderators meet annually and this topic comes up every year, "how do we keep the list active without flooding someone's mailbox with too many e-mails?" And, "how many reminders is too many?" There never seems to be a great "pat answer." Since each of the NIFL-list moderators do this work with NIFL on a volunteer basis and are not using our e-mail solely in our roles as a list moderators, we realize the "signature block" on how to subscribe and unsubscribe is not realistic. It is wonderful when subscribers "own" this list and send helpful messages to individuals. When folks write the list to unsubscribe or write for specific information, I rarely respond on the list in order to keep the number of e-mails focused on all y'all, the subscribers. I write to that person individually. The ideas you all have sent me individually and the encouragements you have sent me are very kind, and I appreciate you all. Thank you. Nancy Sledd, NIFL-Family list moderator
