One, and I'm afraid a lot of people may not be aware of this, is that the family literacy curriculum that is being offered is from a commercial company, Jump Start. What they are going to send you are brochures and advertising, showing you a curriculum you can buy. Frankly, I get enough of this type of information in the mail all ready. The other issue is just the sheer volume of messages that are only requesting this information. I had over 20 NIFL-Family messages in my inbox on Monday, and very few of them were anything but requests for information. It does not do the members of this list any good to have to wade through all these messages. The main point is just to send those types of replies directly to the person you are requesting the information from. I participate in three list servs, one for work and two personal. This is just common courtesy on the internet. I hope you don't leave the list. I've been here since September, when I started in family literacy, and have received a LOT of great information. ===== Colleen Angaiak Even Start Coordinator Literacy Council of Alaska 1949 Gillam Way Fairbanks, AK 99709 Phone: 907/456-5013 Fax: 907/456-1657 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
