How does improving literacy assist in reforming education?  I am an undergraduate student at Alvernia College engaging in a year-long research project that investigates the best parts of President Bush's "HR-1" bill.  In between I am volunteering in a state representative's office and volunteering in a library to aid in my research.  I am seeking written testimonials and other forms of evidence to add to my research project, on the subject "How will literacy shape the education process in 2002.  How has the educational system been shaped by efforts to improve literacy in 2001?" In addition, I'm looking for your views as educators, etc. on:

Please send a testimonial letter, offering views on the above topics to the mailing address set up for the research for this project.  I will use it in my project and as I work toward helping lawmakers develop legislation that will improve our education system.  I will send you a personal, hand-written reply as my thank you!
