It takes a while to navigate this site...but there is lots of good info
available.

School Funding Services
The Education Commission of the States lists this interactive online
tool that helps users identify and access federal, state and private
dollars available to fund education improvement programs. The service is
a unit of New American Schools, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization
whose mission is to increase student achievement and improve schools.

Don't be frightened by the size of this report. If you work with
adolescence whose family is part of the welfare system you will be
interested in pages 24-45.

How Welfare and Work Policies for Parents Affect Adolescents: A
Synthesis of Research. Pulling together the research on teens in welfare
families, this Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation report
documents the need for caution in welfare policies that impose rigid
work requirements on families. New findings indicate that negative
effects on teens are concentrated among the adolescents who have younger
siblings, and these teens show not only worsening school performance but
troubling effects like dropping out of school and suspensions.

We are all aware of the points that this little report brings out, but I
was after it for the bibliography! 28 pages and 86 references...someone
was doing their homework!
