When teachers have too little time or misuse the time they have, she concluded, they hurry through planning, cram whole curriculum topics into short units and lessons, and rush students through their studies. "The most important thing I learned," she said, "is the power a teacher has to slow time down so students can think, ponder, question, and truly learn."
