To whom it may concern-
I am a 2nd year student at Franklin and Marshall College, in Lancaster
PA. I am currently enrolled in a class entitled, "America in Black and
White" For our final project, we are allowed to choose a subject related in
anyway to our class and present it. There are very few guidlines. A few
years ago, I was in South Carolina, and i visited the Boone Hall Plantation,
and i thought I might do a project on it for this class. However, i was
doing some research on the internet, and I came across the letter you wrote
regarding the plantation tour description. I read all the emails sent and i
completely agree. I felt the same way as i was given the tour. I couldnt
help thinking and knowing that there was so much they were not telling us.
This is what I've chosen to do my report on. I was wondering if you have
any information or contacts that could be usefull to me. I was unable to
find much significat historical information on the plantation. All i could
find were facts relating to media and tourism. I know I'm asking you to go
out of your way, but I am really disturbed by the image of this plantation
that is being projected, and I believe its just one example of our country
covering up issues that need to be faced if we are to adress reacial
problems in our country today. I would greatly appreciate at least a
response to this email- thank you very much for your time. -Matthew
Marietti.
My email is matthew.marietti@fandm.edu thanks again everyone for your time
