Hello, All! This is an announcement of a special luncheon to be held at
the National Conference on Family Literacy in Long Beach, California. We
hope that you will join us for a very inspiring panel discussion. When
responding to this message, please remember to respond to NCFL directly

The National Center for Family Literacy (NCFL) and the National
Institute for Literacy (NIFL) are sponsoring a luncheon and presentation
by the National Early Literacy Panel.

The National Early Literacy Panel will present their current work on a
research synthesis of early literacy development in young children, ages
0-5, including parental and home effects on that development. The Panel
will address audience questions and comments.

The scientific findings from this synthesis will have important
implications for professionals who work with young children and their
families in early childhood family literacy programs.

The luncheon will be held on Friday, March 14, 2003 from 11:30 am to
1:00pm at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach, 200 South Pine Avenue in Long
Beach, California.

The session is limited to 200 participants, so be sure to register soon!

There is a $30 registration fee, which includes the cost of lunch.

Sharon Darling, President, National Center for Family Literacy, and
Sandra Baxter, Interim Director, National Institute for Literacy, will
facilitate the presentation.
