Just a note to let you know that the first course ("Introduction to
Family Literacy") in the online Certificate in Family Literacy will
begin on Penn State's World Campus on May 28, with orientation and
exploration beginning May 21. Students can register immediately for
the course at the World Campus web site
<www.worldcampus.psu.edu/pub/famlt/index.shtml> as either an
undergraduate or graduate non-degree student. (Tuition, regardless
of student status or location, is priced at the undergraduate
residential rate.) The Certificate in Family Literacy is being
developed by the Goodling Institute for Research in Family Literacy
at Penn State in partnership with the National Center for Family
Literacy. Donna Bell of NCFL is the author and instructor of the
first course. We hope that family literacy instructors and family
services workers will join this first course in the certificate
program. Nickie Askov
