OUTREACH PROJECT MANAGER - Thirteen/WNET New York (PBS)
Thirteen/WNET New York has an immediate opening for an Outreach Project
Manager in its Outreach department. The individual selected will manage
and assist with projects and special events sponsored by the Local
Outreach department. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals
with project management experience, particularly those who have worked
within the Public Broadcasting Service in the past.

The Outreach Project Manager will manage existing projects, such as the
Ready To Learn Service, as well as oversee new initiatives. He or she
will be expected to both design and facilitate Ready To Learn workshops
in English and Spanish; supervise Web site maintenance; edit and oversee
the "Parent Matters" newsletter; and generate the Ready To Learn monthly
mailings. In addition, the Outreach Project Manager will continually
explore opportunities to establish new partnerships which will diversify
the scope of the local outreach projects, particularly within the Latino
population. The individual selected will supervise interns and
volunteers, and will be responsible for ensuring that project reports
are completed in a timely fashion.

Candidates must have either a Bachelor's degree and three years project
management experience, or a Master's degree and one year of experience.
Excellent presentation and organizational skills are a must, as well as
fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken forms. Certification or
specialty in family literacy or early literacy development/reading a
plus. Candidates must be able to work weekends and evenings when
necessary.
