This morning the House Labor/HHS/Education Appropriations Subcommittee made
their fiscal year 2005 funding recommendations.  It included the following:

Even Start -- $246.9 million (same as FY 2004)
Adult Education State Grants -- $574,372,000 (same as FY 2004)
Head Start -- $6.9 billion ($123 million increase over FY 2004)

The full Appropriations Committee may consider this bill as early as next
week.  The Senate Labor/HHS/Education Appropriations Subcommittee has yet to
schedule when they will consider their measure.
