These positions require excellent presentation and written communication skills. Extensive travel is involved and candidate must be willing to relocate to the Louisville area. Head Start Family Literacy Training Specialists Qualifications Required: Abilities and experience in delivering high quality training, and in developing related written materials; a bachelor's degree or higher with specialization or experience in Early Childhood Education, child development or Early Reading and literacy development; a minimum of two years' experience teaching young children in a family literacy early childhood, Head Start or childcare program. This experience may include program coordination and administration. ESL experience a plus. The ability to speak and write fluently in Spanish is required, as well as a good command of Hispanic/Latino culture. Skills Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, dynamic presentation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills are required. Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred, with specialization in Early Childhood Education Applicants should describe their experience in possible areas related to early childhood and family literacy; developmentally appropriate practices; literacy development, working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers; parent education; diverse populations; reading instruction; authentic assessment; home visiting; working with volunteers; collaboration; teamwork.
