Folks may want to check out this important and accessible, though long
book Education and the Mind in the Knowledge Age by Carl Bereiter

http://www.observetory.com/carlbereiter/

The entire text can be dowmloaded with PDF formatting

I've gone through about 70 pages and recommend it highly for anyone who
is interested in cognitive science regardless of specific schools of
thought.

If I had time I'd be willing to lead a listserv study group on this book.
As I am focused on my own book project, I would have to pass. Perhaps
someone would be willing to take this on? We could sure use some
activity here.
