A recent article in "Focus on Basics" by Susan Watson explored how she got her students from one-on-one into reading groups http://www.ncsall.net/index.php?id=737. That might give you some ideas. What about those who have faced this situation in their programs? Please Help!! I am looking for advice and resource for small group adult reading sessions. We have a number of students that range from the 2.5-to 4.o level on TABE. We want to help these students raise their reading scores in order to handle the reading in an ABE class. I understand that it is challenging to structure a reading group of low skill level readers because there is such a wide range of needs. We currently have one-on one tutors but we want a transition in to ABE class. If any one has tips or success stories about small group adult reading groups please reply. Thank you, Angela Childers Literacy Council of Tyler (903) 533-0330 angela_r25@yahoo.com __________________________________ Yahoo! Mail - PC Magazine Editors' Choice 2005 http://mail.yahoo.com
