The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute presents:
 the Second Biennial
Cancer, Culture and Literacy Conference.
This year's theme is Future Directions for Health Education & Promotion in
the New Millennium.

Please join us on May 4 - 6, 2000 at the beautiful Sheraton Sand Key Resort
in Clearwater, Florida as discuss how health education and promotion will be
shaped in the new millenium.

Course Description:
The overall goal of this conference is to assist health professionals to
develop effective cancer communications that are multicultural,
multilingual, and literacy sensitive aimed at a demographically changing
population. Using a combination of plenary presentations, small group and
roundtable discussions, poster sessions, lessons from the field and hands-on
skill building workshops, this interactive conference offers a variety of
networking opportunities. Our goal is to learn from the "experts" and from
each other. We will explore: cross-cultural cancer communications;
strategies for reaching low-literate populations; health communications for
those who speak English as a second or third language; cultural awareness
and stimulation; and community building and partnership.
