In the NYT today, page D8, there is a short article called "Tackling the
Problems of Health Illiteracy."

One of the points is that the "philanthropic arm" of the American Medical
Association has raised $350,000 to develop ways to make sure that patients who
cannot read, or who read poorly, clearly understand how to use drugs that are
prescribed or treatments they are given.

The web version of the NYT requires a subscription and payment for each article.
