Description
The incumbent will assist in setting annual priorities for health
communication, information and promotion at HSC. In addition, this role
will be responsible for ensuring projects are consistent with HSC needs,
acting as a liaison to the Foundation on Foundation-funded programs,
overseeing the coordination of HSC health information and promotion
projects and strategies including conducting needs assessments, identifying
and planning effective interventions (e.g., advocacy, education, use of
multi-media) and evaluation, both within the hospital and the community.
Qualifications
An undergraduate degree majoring in a related discipline (e.g., health
promotion, education, health communication) is a requirement for this role,
with a Master’s degree considered an asset. In addition to the educational
requirements, a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience is
mandatory in which a knowledge of the health care system, health
promotion/communication strategies, child health care issues, literacy
issues, and program evaluation has been developed and utilized. The
successful candidate will also possess the following skill set: excellent
oral and written communication skills; exceptional organization skills,
strong presentation skills. The proven ability to think at a conceptual
level and create, develop and design and evaluate effective programs and
initiatives are also a requirement.
Salary: $25.64-$36.41 per hour
