I don't know how many on this listserv are nurses like myself, but I can tell 
you that hospital personnel in this area have very little time because of 
staffing and budgetary constraints to attain the kind of excellence they 
would like to achieve with discharge planning.  My hat is off to those who 
are successful at finding and/or making the time for adequate and appropriate 
patient education at discharge.  This is truly preventive medicine!
