The Indiana Literacy Foundation will hold its annual conference here in Indianapolis on Friday, October 13 (no superstitions here!). One of our themes is Literacy and Health. Dr. Rima Rudd of Haravard School of Public Health is one of our featured speakers. She will hopefully bring a wealth of information on this topic. Cara Harvey from Owensboro Kentucky will also present. She has been involved with Project HEAL and other health education programs. In addition, Pat Blackwell, LPN, a one-time adult new reader will be able to share her perspectives as one who learned to read as an adult and who now works in the medical profession. Half-day registration (which includes the morning health literacy presentations) is only $20 (full-day $40). The conference is being held at St. Vincent Marten House Hotel and Conference Center.
