I am in Harrisburg but am familiar with Penn State and in my recent Health Literacy program for Mental Health consumers the staff assisting me is actually a grad student at Penn State Middletown in Comm Psych/ Adult Education. >>> haw6@psu.edu 12/06 1:35 PM >>> Hello NIFL-Health Participants I have been given a new project at work to create a training for Community Outreach Health Care Coordinators who will be creating health education curriculum for their communities based on needs in their very rural area. My main focus is of course helping them to write curriculum aimed at low-level literacy participants. What suggestions, resources, topics etc. do you suggest I put in the training. Honestly my previous experience with health and literacy is limited, I knew this would be a good topic to bring to this list because I am sure you will shine a light in the dark. I want to preface to say tha, I have recieved some direction from the group I am training, and that I will of course be searching LINCS, looking at the LINCS health special collection and ERIC. I thought you might have some specific suggestions for me.
