It was developed by Len and Ceci Doak in 1993, and received a measure of validation he following year. The 22 factors are in 6 groups: - Content - Literacy demand - Graphics - Layout and typography - Learning stimulation and motivation - Cultural appropriateness SAM is described in ch. 4 of Doak, Doak, Root.
