Another aspect of the background problem (white/black, black/white, or 
colors) is the response of people who have learning disabilities.  Since it 
is estimated that a large percentage of adults who read poorly have learning 
disabilities (there are arguments as to what percentage, but concensus that 
it is high) it might be interesting to hear from an LD expert on this 
subject.  I'm sure we can recruit one withno trouble from NIFL's LD 
discussion group. Reactions?  Debbie
