Are we looking for a silver bullet here?  (no sarcasm intended, it's an 
honest question)  I think the pursuit of an answer to the issue leads to "It 
just depends on the reader"---the other half of Jill's equation as to what 
variables affect comprehension. Another testimony to the importance of field
