Nan Gilmore asked about Health Literacy Month.

Health Literacy Month, to be held in October, is campaign to raise awareness
about the need for understandable health information. Organizations, large
and small, took part in the first-ever Health Literacy Month in 2000. By
every account, it was a great success.

Health Literacy Month is a grassroots event in which health literacy advocates
everywhere raise awareness in their local communities. Many of us worked
together to create the Health Literacy Toolbox web site,
www.prenataled.com/healthlit/default.asp, as a resource for this event.

NIFL-Health is a wonderful forum to brainstorm about Health Literacy Month
2001. I will be a cheerleader and repository of who is doing. Beyond that,
Health Literacy Month needs volunteers. Please let me know how you can help.
